Fern: Hi john how are you this morning? And did you sleep well last night?

John: I’m very fine indeed. And yes, I slept so well, much better than the night before. And how are you?

Fern: We’d better go to the wat huay mongkol. It’s very close by. And if we’ve got time later on we can visit wat huahin. We may also go to huahin beach and the floating market. All are in the same complex.

เราควรจะไปวัดห้วยมงคลก่อนมันอยู่ใกล้นี้เอง และถ้าเรามีเวลาทีหลัง เราไปวัดหัวหินได้ เราอาจไปชายหาดหัวหิน และตลาดน้ำด้วย ทั้งหมดอยู่บริเวณเดียวกัน

          Wat Huay Mongkol (Huay Mongkol Temple) is a Buddhist temple set in large grounds to the west of Hua Hin. Wat Huay Mongkol is home to the largest statue of the immensely popular Buddhist monk Luang Pu Thuat who was famed for his ‘miracles’. Luang Pu Thuat lived some 400 years ago

Getting to Wat Huay Mongkol

          Wat Huay Mongkol is located about 18km west of Hua Hin. As Wat Huay Mongkol is quite far you will need some mode of transportation, either a taxi, a car or a motorbike to get there. The path of Hua Nongplub - Pala U (Highway 3218), a distance of about 14 miles to a left turn at the intersection Hnong Ta Phao. . Then go along the way to Wat Huay Mongkol. From Hua Hin town center head west, cross the railway tracks at the Chomsin Road (Soi 70) crossing and then take the first right (about 200m) onto the 3218 Road. Stay on the 3218 Road all the way to Wat Huay Mongkol. You will cross the Phetchkasem 4 bypass. About 3km from the Bypass you will have to turn left staying on the 3218, going straight ahead the road becomes the 3219. This road leads to Ban Huay Mongkol and Wat Huay Mongkol. The way is well sign posted and all local taxi drivers will know where it is.

วัดห้วยมงคล

           วัดห้วยมงคล (วัดห้วยมงคล) เป็นวัดในพุทธศาสนาตั้งอยู่ในบริเวณที่มีขนาดใหญ่ไปทางทิศตะวันตกของหัวหิน วัดห้วยมงคลเป็นที่ตั้งของรูปปั้นที่ใหญ่ที่สุดของที่นิยมอย่างกว้างขวางพระสงฆ์หลวงปู่ทวดที่มีชื่อเสียงสำหรับ 'ปาฏิหาริย์' ของเขา หลวงปู่ทวดอาศัยอยู่ประมาณ 400 ปีที่ผ่านมา

การเดินทางไปวัดห้วยมงคล

          วัดห้วยมงคลตั้งอยู่ทางทิศตะวันตกประมาณ 18 กิโลเมตร ในฐานะที่วัดห้วยมงคลเป็นที่ค่อนข้างไกลคุณจะต้องโหมดบางส่วนของการขนส่งทั้งรถแท็กซี่รถหรือมอเตอร์ไซด์ที่จะได้รับมี เส้นทางของหัวหินหนองพลับ - ป่าละอู (ทางหลวงหมายเลข 3218) ระยะทางประมาณ 14 ไมล์ไปเลี้ยวซ้ายที่สี่แยก หนองตะเภา จากนั้นไปตามวิธีการวัดห้วยมงคล จากหัวหินหัวใจกลางเมืองทางทิศตะวันตกข้ามรางรถไฟที่ถนนชมสินธุ์ (ซอย 70) และจากนั้นประมาณ 200 เมตรบนถนน 3218 อยู่บนถนน 3218 ทุกทางไปวัดห้วยมงคล คุณจะข้ามเพชรเกษม 4 บายพาส  3 กิโลเมตรจากบายพาสที่คุณจะต้องเลี้ยวซ้ายเข้าพักใน 3218 จะตรงไปข้างหน้าถนนจะกลายเป็นเส้น 3219 ถนนสายนี้จะนำไปสู่บ้านห้วยมงคลและวัดห้วยมงคล วิธีที่ให้ไปรถแท็กซี่ในท้องถิ่นจะได้รู้ว่ามันอยู่ที่ไหน
